Agents by Brooke is an agent referral service that was founded out of equal parts love and frustration for the real estate industry. After witnessing first hand a friend get screwed over by a real estate agent that they thought they could trust, I knew it was time to do something about it.
First time home buying or selling is an experience that can feel nearly impossible to navigate. You so desperately want to be in control of the situation, but it always feels like it’s out of your hands.
Not only do you have to worry about finding a home, but you have to make sure that you’re working with the right people. In an industry that is purposefully exclusive and difficult to understand, this can be a big task. That stress is doubled for anyone in a marginalized group who has to consider the possible reality of housing discrimination. What should be one of the most exciting times of your life can quickly become a nightmare if you don’t have the right team behind you.

My friend getting screwed by that asshat of an agent was my first push into real estate. I wanted to be the type of agent that people could rely on. I’ve worked in so many different parts of this industry–new construction, commercial, residential–and eventually I found my happy place as a referral agent.
Referrals in this industry are kinda weird. With “innovators” running the game, “Endorsed Agents” find themselves sitting by the phone waiting for leads to come in only for them to be completely unaligned. I used to be one of those agents and I got so sick and tired of feeling like a door-opener for clients that weren’t meant for me.
I’m a passionate animal welfare advocate, and work in my free time as an adoption counselor to help advocate for animals and find them their perfect furever home (peep my foster fur babies below). My animal matchmaking work actually helped shaped the human matchmaking work I do. Just like every pet has a perfect home, every home buyer or seller has a perfect agent.
